MTCS Names Kobe Davis New Head Girls Basketball Coach

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Middle Tennessee Christian School is turning to a familiar face to lead its girls basketball program. Athletic Director Jason Piercey announced Tuesday that Kobe Davis will serve as the new head coach for the Lady Cougars basketball programThe move also marks a homecoming of sorts for his family, as his wife, Lucy, is a former MTCS student.

Davis makes the move to Murfreesboro following a three-year stint at Nashville Christian School. During his time in Nashville, he gained diverse experience as an assistant coach for both the boys and girls varsity programs. He also managed multiple middle school programs, coaching golf, baseball, and volleyball.

A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Davis brings a strong playing background to the court. He played collegiate basketball at Harding University before graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. He currently holds certifications in Health and Physical Education. 

MTCS President Matt Tiller expressed confidence in the hire, noting that Davis brings a vision for a competitive, Christ-centered program. Davis himself emphasized a desire to build a program grounded in faith and character
