  • Multiple Tennessee schools were placed on lockdown Monday after threatening phone calls targeted campuses in Rutherford, Williamson, and Montgomery counties; Smyrna High, La Vergne High, and Holloway High were searched and cleared with no credible threats found.
  • Murfreesboro Police continue investigating a fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash near New Salem Highway and Veterans Parkway that claimed the life of 44-year-old Joshua Dotson of Eagleville.
  • Three teenagers were arrested after police say drivers blocked lanes of I-24 east near the Rutherford County line while performing donuts and burnouts.
  • La Vergne Police reported a narcotics arrest following a May 8 investigation that allegedly uncovered more than a pound of marijuana, scales, and packaging materials.
  • Drivers in La Vergne are being alerted to a new all-way stop coming Monday, May 18, at Mason Road and Ingraham Boulevard near Three Oaks Industrial Park.
  • The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting local artists, volunteers, businesses, and community members to help “paint the town purple” for Alzheimer’s awareness from June 4 through June 10.
