MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Middle Tennessee Christian School is welcoming a new face to its athletic department. The school announced the hiring of Laila Nipper, who will take the reins of both the boys and girls high school soccer programs. Nipper comes to Murfreesboro after a successful two-year stint at Zion Christian Academy in Columbia.

Nipper brings a wealth of professional knowledge to the Cougars. She holds U.S. Soccer C, D, and F coaching licenses and is the owner of Argusa Soccer Training. Her coaching history includes work with several prominent clubs, including Kings Hammer, Armada, Aris, and Arsenal. Athletic Director Jason Piercey noted that her energy and passion for developing athletes off the field were key factors in the hiring.

The new coach has a personal history of success at the highest levels of the game. A native of Argentina, Nipper was chosen to represent her country at the 2019 Women’s World Cup before an injury sidelined her. Following her move to the United States, she captained the team at the University of Tennessee Southern, where she earned All-Conference and All-Academic honors.

MTCS President Matt Tiller expressed confidence in Nipper's ability to lead a competitive, Christ-centered program. Nipper shared her enthusiasm for the new role, stating she looks forward to being a part of her players' journeys as they grow in both their sport and their faith.
