MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Murfreesboro Police are asking for the community’s help in locating 24‑year‑old Dumonta Lamont Burns, who investigators say is wanted in connection with a shooting on Sulphur Springs Road last Sunday (02/01/2026).

According to MPD Public Information Officer Larry Flowers, Burns has multiple active warrants, including attempted first‑degree homicide, reckless endangerment for allegedly firing a gun from inside a vehicle, and two counts of aggravated assault. The charges stem from a February 1 incident that police say began as an altercation between family members before escalating into gunfire.
