RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN (WGNS News) - After much prayer and consideration, I am excited to announce my candidacy for Rutherford County Commissioner, District 18.  The Rutherford County Commissioner is a nonpartisan position; therefore, I will be running as an Independent Candidate.  My name will not be on the ballot during the May primary.  However, I have qualified to be on the ballot for the General Election on August 6, 2026

I have lived and worked in the community since 2019.  I am running for Rutherford County Commissioner because the time has come for me to step forward and make a difference in my community in a positive way.  As Rutheford County continues its trajectory of growth, we need leadership who will humbly serve and actively listen to their constituents and not become distracted in local partisan politics.  If I am elected, my focus will be on public safety, health and education issues, growth and infrastructure within the county, and accessibility to my constituents.  

Presently, I am actively involved in community activities which include:  Chaplain for the MTSU Lady Raiders Basketball Team, Murfreesboro New Year’s Day 5K Event Volunteer, Miracle League Buddy Event, and Area 16 Special Olympics Track & Field Meet.  I would be humbled and honored to serve as your Rutherford County Commissioner for District 18. 

I am a Minister, husband, published author, and former high school teacher and basketball coach.  I have also served as a former Adjunct College Instructor and as the former Director of Operations for the MTSU Lady Raiders Basketball Team. My greatest attribute is serving people. Politics is not about the position you occupy; it is about the people you serve.

I look forward to meeting and talking with constituents on the campaign trail.
