MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Just minutes after the New Year began, Murfreesboro Fire Rescue crews were called to a vehicle fire on Molloy Lane, behind the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.

Firefighters arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames and were able to put the fire out quickly.

A check of the vehicle later confirmed it had been reported stolen.

Investigators with the Murfreesboro Fire Marshal’s Office are now looking into what happened.

No injuries were reported.
