CHRISTIANA, TN - Rutherford County officials have released new details following a fatal fire earlier this month on Ridley Earp Road. After several weeks of investigation, the Rutherford County Fire and Rescue Department confirmed that the victim in the December 9, 2025 fire was 84‑year‑old Khammone Phomdouangsy of Christiana.

The Rutherford County Fire Marshal’s Office is still awaiting final reports and toxicology results from the State Medical Examiner’s Office. However, investigators say no foul play is suspected in Phomdouangsy’s death at this time.

Fire crews were first called to an outbuilding fire in the 7000‑block of Ridley Earp Road around 8 p.m. on Monday, December 8. Rutherford County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, with support from Rutherford County Emergency Medical Service and the Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency as operations unfolded.
