MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - A multi-vehicle crash caused significant traffic disruptions on Interstate 24 Eastbound in Rutherford County late Tuesday morning.
According to traffic reports, the crash occurred at approximately 9:55 a.m. on Dec. 23 at mile marker 81.2. As a result of the collision, two right lanes of the three-lane eastbound interstate were blocked, along with the right shoulder.
Motorists traveling through the area experienced delays as emergency responders worked the scene and traffic was reduced to a single open lane. Drivers were urged to slow down, remain alert, and consider alternate routes while crews cleared the roadway.
The video of the crash scene from TDOT, recorded at approximately 10:15 a.m., showed emergency vehicles on scene and traffic backing up along the eastbound lanes. Traffic returned to normal flow around 10:30am.
