MURFREESBORO, TN - Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department's Assistant Fire Marshal Shan Womack has been elected president of the Tennessee Fire Safety Inspectors Association (TFSIA). The announcement came during the organization’s 58th annual conference, held at Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro, marking a proud moment for the city’s fire service leadership.

She has served on the TFSIA board for several years, brings both experience and passion to her new role.

Womack commented, “It’s very humbling and inspiring at the same time. I’m excited to fulfill this role.”

She emphasized that her focus will be on elevating the organization through teamwork, collaboration, and forward-focused leadership.

The Murfreesboro Assistant Fire Marshal noted, “I have lots of goals, and hopefully we can achieve those goals together. The board is amazing—there are so many talented people. It’s one whole entity, not just one person. I look forward to working with all of them as we advance fire safety and do big things for the organization.”

Womack’s career with Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department began in 2004. She was promoted to Fire Inspector in 2018 and advanced to Assistant Fire Marshal in 2021. Her election as president signals a new chapter for the TFSIA, which is poised for two years of progress, partnership, and continued commitment to strengthening fire safety across Tennessee.

In addition to Womack’s election, Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department Fire Inspector Jonathan Gaither was selected to serve a two-year term on the TFSIA Board of Directors. His appointment further highlights Murfreesboro’s growing influence in statewide fire safety leadership.

The Tennessee Fire Safety Inspectors Association plays a vital role in promoting education, training, and collaboration among fire safety professionals. With Womack at the helm and Gaither joining the board, Murfreesboro’s fire service leaders are set to make a lasting impact on fire prevention and safety initiatives across the state.
