MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Murfreesboro Police Department officers responded to a report of an unattended death late Monday night at a local restaurant.
According to MPD, officers were dispatched around 10:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15, to the Sonic Drive-In located on Middle Tennessee Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual deceased inside a vehicle parked in the restaurant’s parking lot.
Police officials said there were no immediate signs of foul play at the scene. As a precaution and in keeping with standard procedure, an autopsy has been requested to determine the official cause of death.
The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin. The incident remains under investigation, though authorities emphasize there is no indication of a threat to the public at this time.
