LA VERGNE, Tenn. — The La Vergne Police Department continues their investigation into a homicide that occurred late Sunday (12/14/2025) night in a residential area of the city. According to police, responding officers were called to the 1300 block of Gary Lane at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025. When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old man suffering from a single gunshot wound. Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary information indicates that three suspects fled the area in a vehicle following the shooting. Police initiated a vehicle pursuit, which resulted in two suspects being taken into custody. A third suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot and remains at large.
The outstanding suspect is described as an unknown male of unknown age, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing all white clothing, including a white hooded sweatshirt.
Investigators said the shooting appears to have been a targeted incident and emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the general public.
