MURFREESBORO, TN - Shortly after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning (12/9/2025), traffic along Old Fort Parkway came to a standstill following a two-vehicle crash in front of Kohl’s Department Store. Police reported that all inbound lanes near Saint Andrews Drive were temporarily blocked after a Ford F-150 pickup collided with a Chevy SUV, leaving the SUV overturned on its side.
Murfreesboro Police officers quickly arrived on scene, directing traffic and beginning their investigation into the cause of the accident. Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue crews worked to safely extricate two individuals trapped inside the overturned SUV. Both had minor injuries. Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services transported them to the ER at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
The crash created significant delays for midday drivers, though lanes were reopened once the vehicles were cleared and the investigation concluded. Authorities have not yet released details on what led to the collision, noting only that the cause remains under investigation.
This incident serves as a reminder of how quickly traffic can be disrupted along one of Murfreesboro’s busiest corridors, especially during the holiday shopping season when roadways near retail centers are crowded.
