MURFREESBORO, TN — Murfreesboro Police Department detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest connected to a theft that occurred at the JCPenney store inside Stones River Town Centre. The shopping mall sits between the Stones River and Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro.

According to investigators, a woman and a man entered the store on November 25. The duo are believed to have entered the store with trash bags, prepared to make a daring heist. Evidently, the two were accused of taking their trash bags out and then filling the garbage bags with a variety of JCPenney merchandise, mainly in the form of clothing. That daring heist added up to approximately $1,640 in loot that they allegedly walked out with.

Police released a surveillance photo of the woman as she entered the retail center. In the image, she is seen wearing a black varsity-style jacket with orange stripes around the cuffs and collar, along with an orange letter “S” stitched on the front left of the button-up jacket. The female had a black key dongle with yellow writing hanging from her neck. She was also wearing blue jeans with multiple holes, a tan shirt tucked in, and white tennis shoes. Her hair was pulled into a bun, secured with a white ribbon or band.

No photo of the male suspect has been released at this time.
