Kaye Jernigan, Retired Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Assistant Chief

MURFREESBORO, TN – A familiar face in both public service and the stands of Nissan Stadium is being recognized on a national stage. Francina “Kaye” Jernigan, a retired Assistant Chief with the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department and current Emergency Operations Manager at Middle Tennessee State University, has been named the Tennessee Titans Fan of the Year and is now in the running for the National NFL Fan of the Year award.

Kaye’s passion for the Titans runs deep — stretching back to before Tennessee even had its own NFL team. A longtime Season Ticket Member and PSL holder, she has cheered through every up and down since the franchise’s earliest days.

For Kaye, football has always been more than a game — it’s a family tradition. She and her late father, Joe Frank Jernigan, who served as Assistant Road Superintendent and as the District 6 County Commissioner for 22 years, attended every home game they could, often traveling to away games to support their team.

Even after her father’s passing, Kaye has kept their tradition alive by ensuring her seats are always filled with family, friends, or anyone willing to share in the excitement of Titans football. Her dedication, generosity, and true-blue spirit have now earned her statewide recognition — and a shot at national honors.

Fans can help Kaye by casting their votes at NFL.com/honors/fan-of-the-year or by scanning the QR code shared by local supporters. Votes can be submitted multiple times.

The National NFL Fan of the Year will be announced during Super Bowl 2025 in Santa Clara, California. Murfreesboro and Middle Tennessee are cheering her on — Titan Up, Kaye!
