Jan. 1, 2026: WGNS Radio is proudly entering its 79th year of service to Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, Tennessee. As the area’s first local radio station, WGNS rang in the New Year of 1947 with a mission to inform, uplift, and connect its neighbors. That mission hasn’t changed.

For nearly eight decades, WGNS has remained devoted to its founding vision: being your Good Neighbor Station. From breaking local news and sharing community events to spotlighting hometown heroes and offering a platform for public voices, WGNS continues to be a trusted companion across generations.
