MURGREESBORO, TN - After celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Rutherford County Farmers Market is making history again. When the regular May-through-October season ended, local farmers had a big idea: “Why not make this a year-round market?” said Rutherford County Extension Director Anthony Tuggle. “We have this beautiful facility that can roll up the doors or keep them closed and heated—let’s use it all year!”

Winter-Spring Market Officially Opens - On Friday, November 7, 2025, the winter-spring market opened its doors at the Lane Agri-Park. Shoppers were greeted with a bounty of locally grown farm-fresh vegetables—including, yes, tomatoes! Marketing Director Hannah Bleam explained, “Many local farmers have added greenhouses, so we can extend the growing season and offer fresh produce even in winter.”

More Than Just Veggies- But it’s not just about vegetables. The market features everything from meats, breads, preserves, and jellies to handmade soaps and oils (some made with goat’s milk for extra-soft skin), and even locally grown mushrooms. The new Winter-Spring Farmers Market is open Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to noon, offering something for everyone.

Family Fun and Community Spirit - Hannah Bleam also shared that the market will include activities for kids and even yoga for seniors. “It’s all about making this a family event where everyone can enjoy locally created and raised produce, meats, flowers, and even trees and shrubs,” she said.
