MURFREESBORO, TN - Shortly before 1:00 o'clock Wednesday (11/5/2025) afternoon, Murfreesboro Police along with MTSU Police responded to a mental health emergency on North Baird Lane, just steps from the MTSU campus. The call involved a suicidal individual, prompting immediate coordination between the two agencies.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with the person in crisis and quickly assessed the situation. Authorities confirmed there was no danger to the surrounding community, and the individual was not posing a threat to others.

Around 2:00PM, both Murfreesboro and MTSU Police concluded their response. Officials emphasized that the situation was resolved peacefully, with safety and support guiding every step of their approach. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the role of trained responders in de-escalating sensitive situations.
