RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. — Investigators with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with a stolen vehicle and felony evasion case.
“Do you recognize this man?” That’s the question detectives are posing to residents after deputies responded to a 911 call Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m. on John Bragg Highway near Mt. Herman Road.
According to Detective Jesse Gammel, dispatchers received the call while the crime was actively occurring, as a white Toyota Avalon was reportedly being stolen directly from a residential driveway.
As deputies headed toward the scene, they spotted the vehicle traveling along John Bragg Highway and attempted to stop it. A brief pursuit followed before deputies lost sight of the four-door sedan.
Later, investigators recovered the vehicle, but the suspect fled the area and remains at large. Authorities believe he may be connected to several other vehicle thefts and car burglaries throughout the county.
The Sheriff’s Office released images and surveillance video of the suspect, urging residents to review the materials closely and contact law enforcement if they recognize the man.
Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the individual is asked to contact the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office at 615-898-7770 or reach out directly to Detective Jesse Gammel at 615-904-3051.
