NASHVILLE, TN - Metro Police Traffic Unit investigators have charged 41-year-old George Henein of Murfreesboro with multiple offenses stemming from an early Thursday morning hit-and-run crash in downtown Nashville.

The incident occurred at 3:20 a.m. at the intersection of 4th Avenue South and Korean Veterans Boulevard. Investigators determined that a blue Honda CRV, driven by Henein, struck 28-year-old Nicholas Leonhardt of Charlotte, North Carolina, as he crossed 4th Avenue outside a crosswalk. The Honda fled the scene, heading southbound.

Leonhardt sustained critical injuries and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment.

At approximately 8 a.m., Henein called dispatch from Murfreesboro and admitted he was the driver involved in the crash. With assistance from Murfreesboro Police, investigators recovered the Honda at Henein’s residence and took him into custody.

Henein is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury, failure to give information or render aid, failure to provide immediate notice of an accident, failure to provide proof of financial responsibility, and driving without a license.

Authorities continue to monitor Leonhardt’s condition as the investigation remains ongoing.
