UPDATE: Murfreesboro Arrest Leads to Capture of Man Wanted for Aggravated Kidnapping in Wilson County

UPDATED: RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - WGNS has more news on a man who was arrested in Murfreesboro and wanted by Mount Juliet Police. The arrest of 24-year-old Ahmed Gouda took place last week after he was tracked to an apartment complex on Hillwood Drive in Murfreesboro.

After being apprehended, he was transported from Murfreesboro to Lebanon, TN where he was booked into the Wilson County Jail on Friday. Gouda is facing charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Domestic Assault in Wilson County. He was also charged with a probation violation. A hearing has been scheduled for October 7, 2025, in Wilson County, where he will appear before Judge Jimmy Lea.

Prior to Gouda being captured in Murfreesboro, a crime data analyst using license plate reader technology located a plate tied to the wanted subject. As MPD officers arrived at the apartment complex and Gouda became aware of police closing in, he reportedly ran. However, his running abilities were no match for the use of overhead drones, along with a police K9 on the ground. He was quickly located hiding in a nearby tree line, then handcuffed and held for Wilson County authorities.

This was not the first time Gouda had been accused of running from the law. In June of last year, he was charged with evading arrest and later pleaded guilty to evading police in October 2024.

Murfreesboro officers also detained a 21-year-old woman who was wanted by Mt. Juliet Police. Gouda and the woman were both turned over to the custody of Mt. Juliet Police and remain behind bars in the Wilson County Jail, located in Lebanon, TN.
