Murfreesboro, TN - Residents of Murfreesboro are strongly encouraged to attend an important Downtown Community Town Hall this Monday evening (8/4/2025) from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 210 N. Spring Street just off the historic downtown square. This meeting provides a rare, face-to-face opportunity to connect with Mayor Shane McFarland, members of the City Council, and senior leaders from city departments as they present key updates and address public concerns. Rev. Dr. John Hinkle, Jr., Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian, will welcome the community and open the evening.
The topics on the agenda are deeply relevant to anyone living, working, or investing in Murfreesboro — especially downtown. City officials will discuss traffic congestion, transportation initiatives, public safety and homelessness, and the daylighting of Town Creek. Attendees will also hear progress reports on ongoing downtown developments, such as the Keystone Project on Broad Street between Vine and S. Church Street, along with updates to the old First Methodist Church property.
The gathering promises more than just announcements; it’s a dialogue. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, raise concerns, and speak directly with decision-makers who are shaping Murfreesboro’s future.
Whether you’re a resident invested in local quality of life, a business owner impacted by downtown revitalization, or simply someone who cares about the direction of your city, this meeting deserves your time. The updates shared will influence development, safety, and mobility in the “Heart of Tennessee.”
Enter the Murfreesboro First Presbyterian Church through the College Street sanctuary entrance, which is accessible via a ramp. Parking is available both in front of the church and behind it off Spring Street.
Your presence matters. When the community shows up, leadership listens. Let’s keep downtown Murfreesboro strong, vibrant, and informed.
