MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) – A traffic crash around 3:53 a.m. Wednesday morning temporarily shut down both directions of North Thompson Lane near the Dollar General at 2144 N. Thompson Lane. Murfreesboro Police blocked all lanes and directed drivers to make U-turns and take alternate routes during the closure, which lasted several hours.
Crews from Middle Tennessee Electric responded quickly to the scene. According to MTE spokesperson Amy Byers, the incident required "major repairs," and teams worked diligently with the goal of completing the restoration by early afternoon.
The repairs were successfully completed, and all lanes have since been reopened, restoring normal traffic flow in the area.
