Now, that's reason for some high-spirited flag-waving—marking 249 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. That means the big 250th anniversary (Semiquincentennial) will be next year. Plans are already underway locally and nationally for this major red, white and blue event!
Thursday (July 3, 2025) SMYRNA, TN 5:00PM at the Lee Victory Recreation Park, 110 Sam Ridley Parkway East. The public is encouraged to bring your lawn chair and get ready for a fun, family event. Food trucks offer a wide range of goodies, and “live music” starts the celebration with the Texas Twisters. A big pyro show explodes over Smyrna at dark.
Friday (July 4, 2025) ROCKVALE, TN 10:00AM-afternoon at Rockvale Community Center, 9972 Rockvale Rd. This is the 98th Independence Day Picnic, the oldest celebration in the county and a 4th of July tradition. Step back in time as vendors offer classic Southern food and treats, cornhole and softball tournaments, hayrides, checkers tournament, live music and more.
Friday (July 4, 2025) La VERGNE, TN 5:30PM at Veterans Memorial Park, 115 Floyd Mayfield Dr. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets to spread on the ground and enjoy a family picnic or visit the food trucks. Then “live music” from Rae Radick band.
Friday (July 4, 2025) MURFREESBORO, TN 4:30PM Celebration Under the Stars is centered at the Fountains at Gateway, 1500 Medical Center Parkway. Bring the family and enjoy DJ music, food trucks, and splash pad. “Live music” at 7:30PM with Derrick Dove and the Peacekeepers. We say, “centered at the Fountains”, because this is a high-altitude pyro show that can be enjoyed from other locations. The giant fireworks display begins at 9:00PM.
