Murfreesboro, TN – Murfreesboro City Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Liz Rueby as the new principal of Reeves-Rogers Elementary, bringing with her a passion for growth-focused education and more than fifteen years of experience as an educator and administrator.
Rueby began her career as a physical education teacher, where she spent 11 years helping students achieve excellence through movement and wellness. Most recently, she has served as assistant principal at Hobgood Elementary and Scales Elementary in Murfreesboro. Additionally, Rueby served for a year as Senior Director of Museum Experiences at the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring.
At Hobgood Elementary, Rueby was instrumental in leading teacher development through data-driven Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), coordinating curriculum implementation, strengthening community partnerships, and overseeing testing programs.
"I believe academic success is possible for all students, and I’m committed to fostering environments that promote deep, and purposeful collaboration," says Rueby.
Rueby completed her Doctor of Education in Assessment, Learning, and School Improvement at MTSU earlier this year. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Carson-Newman University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Middle Tennessee State University.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Rueby into this leadership role,” says Dr. Trey Duke, Director of Schools. “Her student-centered philosophy and proven leadership experience make her ideal for Reeves-Rogers.”
