TENNESSEE - A man once entrusted with educating children remains one of Tennessee’s most sought-after fugitives. Jonathan Ullrich, 55, continues to evade capture a year after being placed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s (TBI) Top 10 Most Wanted List, according to new updates from the TBI and Maury County Sheriff’s Office.
Ullrich, a former Fairview Elementary teacher, was initially arrested in 2021 following allegations of sexual abuse involving minors. In December 2022, he was indicted by a Maury County Grand Jury on 27 charges connected to multiple sex crimes against two children under the age of 13, both of whom were reportedly related to Ullrich.
While out on bond in April 2023, Ullrich cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor and disappeared just before his scheduled court appearance. Despite an ongoing manhunt, his whereabouts remain unknown more than a year later.
Ullrich’s list of charges is extensive and disturbing, including Rape of a Child, Incest, Sexual Battery, and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor—with one felony tied to the possession of over 100 exploitative images. He also faces multiple charges from indictments handed down as far back as 2021.
Authorities believe Ullrich may be receiving help to avoid capture and say he may have ties to Middle and East Tennessee, New York, and Alaska.
Ullrich is described as 5’6” tall, weighing around 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a distinctive tattoo on his forearm featuring a skull and the words “Haunted by Design.”
This is not the first time Ullrich has gone off the radar. His initial disappearance in 2023 led to widespread alerts, and as of today, he remains on the run—prompting renewed urgency from law enforcement and public safety agencies.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest. Anyone with information on his location is urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463). See the state website for more details on the most wanted subjects in Tennessee HERE.
