MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) – The United Way of South Central Tennessee is now accepting applications for its 2025–2026 Catalyst Program, a dynamic initiative designed to prepare emerging volunteer leaders to serve with impact across the nonprofit sector.

Now entering a new program year, the Catalyst Program offers a hands-on, leadership development experience through nine interactive sessions focused on governance, fundraising, advocacy, and financial accountability. Participants also complete an agency project, volunteer with United Way, and are introduced to the structures and leadership models that define successful nonprofits.

“If you're passionate about giving back and looking to grow as a leader, the Catalyst Program is a great place to start,” said Lucie Burchfield, Vice President of Community and Engagement at United Way. “It offers a welcoming, hands-on space to learn about how nonprofits work, fundraising, and advocacy. I encourage anyone who’s ready to take that next step to apply and see how the Catalyst Program can help you grow!”

Designed for individuals eager to make a difference, the Catalyst Program connects participants with like-minded peers and equips them with the skills and confidence to serve their communities effectively—whether on nonprofit boards or in volunteer leadership roles.
