LA VERGNE, Tenn. — A high-speed pursuit on Jefferson Pike led to two arrests on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, after a male suspect fled from a traffic stop initiated by La Vergne K9 Officer Fesmire. The pursuit began when the officer observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle eventually pulled into a local business parking lot, where the male driver fled on foot into a wooded area.
While officers conducted a search of the surrounding area, a woman exited the business and claimed ownership of the vehicle. She initially provided false information about the suspect’s identity. However, further investigation revealed her true connection to the man who fled. Officers also discovered drug paraphernalia on her person. She was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including resisting arrest, possession of Schedule III drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and introducing contraband into a penal facility.
Later, officers, including Ofc. Fesmire and Ofc. Bell, responded to a residence where they believed the male suspect was hiding. After a brief exchange with law enforcement, the suspect exited the home and was taken into custody without incident. He now faces charges of felony evading, evading arrest on foot, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a revoked license.
The La Vergne Police Department commended the efforts of all officers involved in the case, highlighting their professionalism and commitment to public safety. The department continues to urge community members to report any suspicious activity, emphasizing that public involvement plays a critical role in maintaining safety across the city.
