SMYRNA, Tenn. (WGNS) – Another major road construction project is underway in Smyrna. More from WGNS' Bryan Barrett:
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is working to widen and modernize a key stretch of Lowry Street (State Route 1). The project will improve the ramps from Sam Ridley Parkway on to Lowry Street while also making improvements at Lowry Street and Jefferson Pike. The project is expected to be completed by spring of 2026.
The improvements aim to relieve congestion at key intersections and enhance connectivity in the rapidly growing part of Rutherford County. Motorists should anticipate occasional weekend intersection closures and posted detours as crews continue to align road grades and install permanent infrastructure.
