MURFREESBORO, TN – Butterflies are fluttering into the spotlight in Middle Tennessee this month as the Rutherford County Library System invites the community to a fun and educational event focused on these fascinating insects… That was Youth Service Director Katie Turner highlighting the upcoming event that’s called B.E.A.D., which stands for “Butterfly Education and Awareness Day,” and it’s set to take place on Saturday, May 31, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM at the Technology Engagement Center (TEC) in Murfreesboro.

Hosted by the TEC, part of the RCLS network, B.E.A.D. promises an engaging afternoon for nature lovers of all ages. Guests will learn everything you ever wanted to know – and maybe didn’t know you wanted to know – about butterflies, from their colorful wings and delicate life cycles to the vital plants they depend on for survival.

This event is all about celebrating the beauty and importance of butterflies in our ecosystem, according to one of the organizers of the special program. It is geared towards being a fun, hands-on way to educate families about pollinators and why it’s so important to protect their habitats. Everyone is invited to attend the FREE event.
