Brentwood, TN - Middle Tennessee State University graduate Reggie Polk has received statewide recognition for his thriving Brentwood-based construction firm. Named Tennessee Small Business Administration Person of the Year, Polk was honored on May 5, 2025 as part of 2025 National Small Business Week at the Small Business Association banquet in Washington, D.C.
At the event, U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler commended award recipients for their contributions to economic growth, stating the SBA is "proud to recognize excellence across our small businesses and key resource partners."
Polk, the owner of Polk & Associates Construction Inc., expressed gratitude for the honor, emphasizing the opportunities it opens for entrepreneurs in the region. "This award represents the dedication and hard work of our team," he said. "We make it a point to invest in our people, and that is what makes us great."
Building Success and Expanding Opportunities - A former MTSU football player and a proud Class of 2003 graduate, Polk co-founded the construction firm alongside his wife, Tanora Polk, who also attended MTSU. The couple recently visited their alma mater, where MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee and other university officials congratulated them on their success.
Polk highlighted his company's involvement in the construction of the new NFL Tennessee Titans stadium, noting that his firm is part of the four-member Tennessee Builders Alliance leading the $2 billion project. "This is a generational opportunity that allowed us to scale to new levels of growth," he said.
SBA Leadership Visits Tennessee - On May 8, Polk joined Loeffler and other SBA leaders for an exclusive meeting at Belmont University in Nashville. The visit, one of four national SBA regional engagements, included discussions with Governor Bill Lee and other officials, as well as a tour of the ongoing stadium construction.
Polk expressed his enthusiasm for the SBA's involvement in Tennessee’s business community, stating, "We are fortunate to be one of the four states selected for this visit."
Through his leadership and vision, Polk continues to make strides in Middle Tennessee’s construction sector, inspiring fellow entrepreneurs and strengthening the region’s economy.
