A former FBI electronics technician, Justin Carroll, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for multiple crimes involving minors, including sexual exploitation, coercion, and receiving child pornography. Carroll, who worked at the FBI, was found guilty after a jury trial and will also serve 10 years of supervised release after his sentence.
Between June 2020 and April 2021, Carroll engaged in sexually explicit conversations and shared images with three 14-year-old girls through social media platforms. The crimes came to light after one victim mailed a Valentine’s package to the FBI office, prompting an investigation. Authorities discovered explicit images on Carroll’s phone and social media, along with evidence showing he ignored a warning email from a victim’s mother.
Officials condemned Carroll’s actions, emphasizing that no one is above the law and reaffirming their commitment to protecting children and maintaining public trust in law enforcement.
