MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — After years of serving up Southern coastal cuisine, Cajun Steamer Bar & Grill has permanently closed its Murfreesboro location. A sign posted on the restaurant’s front door confirmed the decision, citing “careful and deliberate consideration” behind the closure.
The announcement expressed deep gratitude to the community for its support and loyalty over the years. “It has been an honor to serve the Murfreesboro community,” the statement read. “We are proud of the memories and connections made along the way.”
Local residents weren't entirely surprised. One customer shared on social media that the restaurant appeared understaffed in recent weeks, with only one server managing the entire dining area during a visit.
While the Murfreesboro location is now closed, fans of the Cajun Steamer experience can still visit their other locations in Franklin and Hendersonville.
No official reason was given for the closure, but signs point to staffing and operational challenges as contributing factors. Some residents are now looking forward to what’s next for the space, with one commenter hoping the new seafood restaurant opening on Church Street will live up to expectations.
