RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - A Wednesday morning truck fire led to the halting of traffic on I-24 this morning. As motorists began to roll past what started as a small blaze, the large truck became nearly engulfed in flames. Evidently, the commercial truck went up in flames as the driver was heading towards Nashville. It was reported to dispatchers as being an incident on Interstate 24 after 7 o'clock rolled in.

According to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, I-24 had to be shut down near the Joe B. Jackson interchange after the big rig became fully engulfed in flames. Deputies also shut down one lane of the eastbound side of the interstate as a precaution as fire crews arrived to douse the glowing blaze.Thankfully, Rutherford County Fire and Rescue doused the fire, putting it out by 9 AM.
