MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Do you know this man? Because Murfreesboro Police would very much like to have a polite chat with him regarding a recent shopping incident at Lowe’s — one that somehow skipped the whole "paying" part.

The incident involved the theft of only two items, but those two items were valued at nearly $8,000. Authorities say an individual captured on security camera close to the date of the theft is now considered a "person of interest" — which is a nicer way of saying, “You might know something about a stolen zero-turn radius mower and a battery-powered minibike that conveniently hitched a ride out of the Lowe’s parking lot on April 20, 2025.” In the photo released by local authorities, the man can be seen wearing a red "Drippin’ World Rebel Studio" hoodie.

Going back to the original theft case, listeners may recall hearing about the unique, crouching-tiger, hidden-lawnmower style of walk displayed by the two subjects as they meandered from their van to the front of the store. This odd behavior was captured on surveillance video (scroll down to see). In the footage, the suspects can be seen exiting the van and immediately ducking into a crouch-like stance, expertly mimicking cartoon burglars who clearly spent too much time watching Saturday morning cartoons.

According to MPD detectives, two thieves — armed with bolt cutters and questionable decision-making skills — clipped the security cables wrapped around the wheels of a minibike and lawnmower parked in front of Lowe’s. After freeing their new "purchases," the duo loaded the Toro brand mower and Ego brand minibike onto a trailer hitched to a silver Dodge Caravan. Then, with all the grace of suburban outlaws, they drove the minivan — once known as the official car of Little League parents everywhere — directly out of the Old Fort Parkway parking lot.

For extra flair, their trailer sported a mismatched black-and-white wheel combo on the passenger side — a bold fashion statement in the world of budget crime.

If this sounds suspiciously like someone you know — maybe that one friend who suddenly got very into landscaping or started bragging about their "eco-friendly ride" — Detective Kyle Ferree would love for you to give him a ring-uh-ling-ling at 629-201-5628.
