MURFREESBORO - Community cooperation and cutting-edge police technology led to the arrest of a Murfreesboro man charged in connection with the illegal dumping of a mattress.
Calvin Moody, 20, was taken into custody Friday by Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated criminal littering, altering or falsifying vehicle registration, and tampering with evidence.
The charges stem from an incident last Saturday, when a mattress was found illegally dumped along Florence Road. Thanks to tips from local residents and assistance from the Murfreesboro Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center, detectives were able to identify Moody as a suspect. License Plate Reader technology played a key role in tracking the vehicle involved.
Moody was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. His bond was pending as of Friday afternoon.
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation for the public’s assistance and the partnership with MPD that led to the swift arrest.
