RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN -Area residents will have a chance to pick up a few new plants for their landscape or garden for FREE at the annual Plant Swap in Murfreesboro. The event will be on Saturday, April 26 at the Lane Agri Park… That was Agriculture Extension Agent Justin Stefanski.
The Rutherford County Master Gardeners are preparing to host their annual Plant Swap and are encouraging guests to be selective in what they bring. Organizers ask participants to avoid bringing invasive plant species, and instead bring only pest-free plants that are properly labeled and well-rooted in soil.
This free community event will be held in the same building that houses the Rutherford County Farmers Market. The Plant Swap is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025, and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Looking ahead, the Farmers Market will officially reopen for the season on Friday, May 9, 2025. From that point forward, it will be open every Tuesday and Friday through the end of October (October 31). Market hours are 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with vendors from more than a dozen Middle Tennessee counties offering fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, canned goods, and more.
