Apr 17, 2025 at 10:24 am by WGNS News

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN - On today’s episode, host Scott Walker sits down with Justin Stefanski of the Agriculture Extension Service based right here in Murfreesboro. While the service is often associated with farming and gardening, you’ll quickly learn it’s much more than just tomato talk. From helping homeowners tackle their backyard gardens to advising local farmers on crop health and connecting grocery stores with Tennessee-grown produce, this episode digs deep—pun intended—into all things agriculture.

Plus, we explore some surprising topics like why cedar trees are so abundant, and yes, even the surprising places you might stumble across edible cactus in Tennessee. Whether you’ve got a green thumb or just love learning how local food gets from farm to table, this episode is rooted in fascinating info you won’t want to miss.
