MURFREESBORO - Siegel Middle School has officially named its baseball field “Mike Tobitt Field” in honor of longtime coach Mike Tobitt, recognizing his contributions to the school's baseball program and facilities.

Coach Tobitt began leading the Siegel Middle baseball program in 2002. Over a 13-year span, he worked with the booster club, the school's administration, the Richard Siegel Foundation, and numerous parents and sponsors to transform an open field into a fully developed baseball complex.

Facility improvements during his tenure included the addition of dugouts, fencing, bleachers, a scoreboard, concession stands, a press box, and an indoor hitting facility.

Under Tobitt’s leadership, the team achieved a .784 winning percentage, totaling 356 career wins and securing multiple conference championships and tournament titles.

The field naming honors both his coaching success and his role in building the baseball program's infrastructure and reputation within the community.
