Murfreesboro, TN - Unfortunately, due to unexpected weather and for the safety of participants, the 15th Annual Special Kids Race at Middle Tennessee Medical Center has been changed to a “virtual event”.
Special Kids Executive Director Chris Truelove said, “Your safety and well-being are our top priorities as we prepare for race day tomorrow, Saturday, March 15, 2025. Unfortunately, we are facing two distinct weather systems, with the first impacting our area between 3 AM and 5 AM, followed by another around 9 AM. Given the predicted thunderstorms, high winds, lightning, and heavy rain during the early morning hours, our race team would be placed at significant risk during site setup. For the safety of all participants, volunteers, and staff, we have made the difficult decision to transition the Special Kids Race to a virtual run.”
He continued, “We know this is disappointing, and we truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Regardless of the weather, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support of our mission. The Special Kids Race is our largest fundraising event of the year, and your participation helps us make a meaningful impact—rain or shine!
Truelove concluded, “All registrants will be able to complete their participation virtually. You do not need to take additional action to become a virtual participant. Regardless of the weather, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support of our mission. Thank you for being part of this incredible community. We look forward to celebrating with you virtually!
