LEBANON, TN - A man is behind bars after allegedly brandishing a firearm at multiple citizens and later being found in possession of methamphetamine. A woman who was said to be with the suspect was also arrested, after confirming outstanding warrants in Rutherford County. The incident unfolded this past Wednesday evening in Lebanon, Tennessee when police officers responded to reports of a male suspect displaying a gun after being asked to leave the Sports World property due to suspicious behavior.
Lebanon authorities swiftly arrived at the scene and located the suspect minutes later in the parking lot of Don Fox Park. Officers detained him and, upon searching his belongings, discovered drug paraphernalia along with a substance believed to be methamphetamine. The suspect, an undocumented immigrant, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of aggravated assault, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine.
Further investigation led officers to the female companion who had been with the suspect at the time of the incident. The 37-year-old woman from La Vergne was found to have multiple outstanding warrants from Nashville, as well as a failure to appear warrant in Rutherford County. She was taken into custody without incident.
Authorities emphasized the seriousness of the situation, particularly given the proximity to Don Fox Park, a popular location for Wilson County families and children. Law enforcement officials commended the quick response of officers, ensuring that both individuals were located and apprehended before any further threat could arise.
Officers encourage the public to report suspicious behavior and assure residents that threats to public safety will not be taken lightly.
