Murfreesboro, TN - Fire destroyed a detached carport Thursday (2/20/2025) morning at a home on Turnstone Court. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire and smoke emanating from the rear of the home. Thanks to their rapid response and effective firefighting efforts, Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue contained the blaze to the unattached carport, though the rear of the home sustained significant heat damage.

No injuries were reported, and the occupant of the home declined medical treatment. Plus, firefighters discovered two dogs and a cat inside the home. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.

Responding units included Engine 9, 10, 11, Rescue 4, Ladder 4, Battalion Chief 1 and 2, Safety 1 and 2, as well as the Fire Marshal's Office.
