MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A Murfreesboro man who preyed on unconscious women and recorded his assaults will spend the next 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of rape and attempted rape... a guilty plea that was filed in a Rutherford County Courtroom.
Immanuel Webb, 39, once moved freely through the community, presenting himself as an ordinary citizen. But behind closed doors, authorities say he was a predator who exploited vulnerable women, violating them while they lay unconscious. His crimes came to light when a brave victim stepped forward, triggering an investigation that would uncover a disturbing pattern of abuse.
During a hearing on February 14 in Rutherford County Circuit Court, Webb admitted to two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape as part of a plea agreement. Chancellor Howard Wilson handed down a 16-year sentence in the Tennessee Department of Correction, ensuring Webb will be behind bars for years to come.
“The three women were courageous in coming forward and reporting the heinous crimes committed against them,” said Crime Investigations Division Detective Emily Speed. “We hope this brings peace of mind to the victims that this man will no longer be able to continue to hurt and prey on any more women.”
Investigators initially charged Webb in July 2022 after a Rutherford County Grand Jury indicted him for two counts of rape and one count of aggravated burglary. The case grew in scope when a second woman came forward in July 2023, reporting that she, too, had been sexually assaulted. This led to additional charges, including seven more counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery.
As detectives dug deeper, they discovered a trove of disturbing evidence on Webb’s phone—videos and photos documenting the sexual assaults of multiple unconscious women. With this evidence in hand, authorities issued a public call for potential victims. The response was swift: A third woman recognized herself in the footage and bravely stepped forward to share her story. This led to yet another indictment in October 2023, adding three counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery to Webb’s growing list of charges.
Despite the severity of his crimes, Webb’s plea deal resulted in the dismissal of ten counts of rape, four counts of sexual battery, and one count of aggravated burglary. However, he will be required to register as a sex offender for life following his release from prison and must pay all court costs and fees.
When his sentence expires, Webb will be released from prison. By the time he steps foot outside the gates, he will be in his fifties. Life will be much different once he re-enters society. Due to current laws, offenders are far from anonymous. The sex offender registry includes details such as the make and model of the vehicle they drive to the address of the home - in which they live. However, that day is still over a decade away.
