Murfreesboro, TN - Youth Leadership Rutherford (YLR) is currently accepting applications for its upcoming program, designed to enhance leadership skills and promote community awareness among high school seniors.
The program benefits high school seniors who demonstrate a commitment to leadership and community service. Participants gain practical understanding of major challenges and opportunities facing Rutherford County, preparing them for future leadership roles. Since its inception in 1995, YLR has graduated numerous classes. The program is facilitated by Leadership Rutherford and Rutherford Works, and it has become a cornerstone for developing young leaders in the community.
While YLR shares similar objectives with the adult Leadership Rutherford program, such as enhancing leadership skills and community engagement, it is tailored specifically for high school seniors.
The program has a class size limit of 40 students. Selection is based on an application and interview process, focusing on commitment to community service, leadership potential, and personal growth. The tuition fee is $250, covering meals, transportation, and materials. Limited scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance.
Application Process Applications are open until March 1, 2024. Interested students must submit an online application, a resume, a letter of recommendation, and a headshot. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview.
