Nashville, TN - After a skull was found, the Metro Nashville Police Department's Cold Case Unit, along with their Urban Search and Rescue team, is actively searching for additional remains in a wooded area off Kirk Avenue near the Cumberland River in Bordeaux.

The discovery was made by a passerby on January 2, 2025. 

A forensic anthropologist indicated that the skull is believed to a 28 to 48-year-old male who died within the last two years.

Since it does not match any missing person cases in Nashville, officials suspect it may be linked to a neighboring county.

Detectives in Rutherford County are comparing the evidence with local missing person cases.
