Smyrna, TN - Christmas was particularly challenging for a Smyrna business. The Southern Bunker, located at 321 Sam Ridley Parkway West, was struck twice in two days by thieves using their vehicles as battering rams. Weapons and ammunition were stolen.
The owner of The Southern Bunker, Christopher Alford, posted on social media, “Thieves rammed a car through our shop in the early morning hours on Christmas Eve. We had still planned to be open afterward, but then another group did it again the day after Christmas.”
In that post, the frustrated owner stated that the business would be open New Year’s week, but “between the damage done and the mental toll of this week, we will be closing down....for now.”
A similar crime occurred at The Southern Bunker back in May, but this type of crime is not new the mid-state. The “ram and rob” crime has targeted Murfreesboro, La Vergne, and other stores throughout the area.
