MURFREESBORO, TN – In a dazzling display of Christmas cheer (or lack thereof), three unidentified women decided to gift themselves the pampering products they clearly felt entitled to, to the tune of $2,400, during a daring escapade at Bath and Body Works inside the Stones River Town Centre shopping mall.
With the grace of seasoned professionals, these festive ladies waltzed down the aisles, allegedly snatching up wonderfully scented lotions and room sprays as if they were filling their stockings with holiday joy. Clearly, the Christmas spirit was not on their shopping list as they blatantly filled their bags to the brim, all while casually looking around – perhaps to see if Santa was watching.
The theft, reported on November 27, left store employees and local law enforcement in disbelief. Fragrances are obviously a hot commodity this time of year. While we emphasize that it is definitely not in the Christmas spirit to engage in thievery, it seems our trio of merry mischief-makers missed the memo on holiday goodwill.
Authorities are now on a mission, not so much to uncover why these women opted for a fragrant kleptomania spree, but rather to pinpoint their identities. Descriptions are rolling in, with one woman sporting a two-tone jacket that screams “fashionably sporty,” while another donned a teal jacket with her hood up – perhaps a new trend for the holiday season? The last woman was seen wearing a long-sleeve button-up that could have doubled as a denim fashion statement.
If you happen to recognize these scent-stealing Santa wannabes, do the right thing and contact Detective Bogle at 629-201-5546 or shoot an email to 0911@murfreesborotn.gov. After all, someone needs to remind these women that the true essence of the holidays is not found in stolen lotions but in generosity, kindness, and maybe a good old-fashioned gift card to Bath and Body Works.
Again, if you recognize the individuals, please contact Detective Bogle at 629-201-5546 or 0911@murfreesborotn.gov.
