MURFREESBORO, TN - A GoFundMe account has been established to assist with funeral expenses and support for the young son of Bailee Craig, the 24-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in a three-car collision on Wednesday afternoon, December 4. The accident occurred on outbound lanes of NW Broad Street near I-840 just before 1:00 p.m.
The fundraiser was organized by Ms. Craig's sister, Mackenzie Craig, who shared heartfelt words on the GoFundMe page: "I know everyone struggles at this moment in life & has their own doings going on, so please don’t feel obligated to donate, simply asking for some help with funeral expenses and expenses for her son as well. She will dearly be missed and forever loved by us all. We ask for prayers at this time."
Details of the Collision - The Murfreesboro Police Department’s Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) is actively investigating the crash, which involved three vehicles. According to their preliminary findings, Ms. Craig, driving a 2020 Kia Rio, may have been involved in a lane-change maneuver that led to a collision with a 2015 Kia Optima, driven by 19-year-old Brandon Alexander. Both vehicles were traveling southbound on NW Broad Street at the time.
The impact sent Ms. Craig’s Kia Rio into the northbound lanes, where it was struck by a 2013 Volkswagen Beetle. Debris from the crash also hit a Chrysler minivan traveling northbound. Ms. Craig succumbed to her injuries at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Additional Developments - At the scene, Brandon Alexander was arrested on two unrelated outstanding warrants for theft and criminal simulation. Authorities also found a loaded AR-15 in his vehicle.
Investigators discovered potential drugs and an open container of alcohol in one of the vehicles involved, but they have not yet determined whether these factors contributed to the crash.
The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.
