Murfreesboro, TN – In a touching display of unity and compassion, Murfreesboro residents have once again rallied around Barnabas Vision, a local non-profit, donating winter coats to keep community members warm this winter season. The non-profit, dedicated to helping those in need, is preparing to distribute these coats free of charge this Friday, November 8, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at their office located at 141 MTCS Road in Murfreesboro (Scroll down for map).
For Barnabas Vision, providing winter coats has become a cherished annual tradition. Each year, their dedicated volunteers and staff work tirelessly to gather gently used coats for neighbors facing financial hardships. The giveaway event welcomes anyone in need, whether it’s a parent looking to keep their child warm or a hardworking individual who might not otherwise have the means to purchase winter essentials.
Founded in 2011 by David and Maria Coggin, Barnabas Vision has made a profound impact on the community by connecting generosity with need. The organization’s mission ensures that everyone, regardless of circumstances, has access to essential winter clothing. Thanks to the compassion of local residents, Barnabas Vision has collected a diverse array of coats for all ages and sizes, creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome.
Individuals in need of a winter coat are encouraged to stop by on Friday, November 8, between 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. at the Barnabas Vision office, conveniently located near the intersection of MTCS Road and Memorial Boulevard. And for those who would still like to contribute, Barnabas Vision is accepting gently used winter coat donations at their office throughout the week.
This heartwarming tradition underscores the power of community in Murfreesboro, showing the incredible impact that kindness and neighborly support can have. As temperatures drop, Barnabas Vision is keeping Murfreesboro warm—one coat at a time.
CHRISTMAS: Also nearing is the Barnabas Vision Christmas program, where local residents can purchase gifts for children… That was Barnabas Visions' Julie Young. She said the not-for-profit began their Christmas program after seeing an increase in evictions during the months that followed the holiday season. Young told us that families will routinely use what little money they have in December to buy gifts for their children, which leaves their pockets empty when it comes time to pay bills.
