SMYRNA, TENN. - Rutherford County drivers should prepare for a full closure at the intersection of Jefferson Pike and Sam Ridley Parkway/Nissan Drive this weekend. Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 18, crews from Civil Constructors will shut down the busy intersection as part of a Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) project. The closure will last through 6 a.m. on Monday, October 21.
The work is required to lower the current elevation of Sam Ridley Parkway to align it with the new grade of Jefferson Pike. During the closure, detours will be in place, directing drivers to alternative routes via Weakley Lane or Gils Drive.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead, follow posted detour signs, and expect delays throughout the weekend as construction teams complete the necessary improvements.
