Tennessee - Parents, are your children ready for the challenges of adulthood? Did you prepare them for what's ahead? Volunteer State parents should be proud! Tennessee ranks #10 state where its young adults are most prepared for adult responsibilities and independence.

Gen Z has found the adjustment period between childhood & adulthood to be particularly difficult. Between learning to drive, buying a home, finding long term romantic partnerships & other responsibilities, many are left wondering how past generations were able to navigate the transition with ease.

62 per cent of Tennessee young adults say their parents prepared them best, out of any information source available. 

To find out more about how Americans feel about entering adulthood, Preply surveyed 2,000 people across the country about their preparedness to assume adult responsibilities.

  • Here’s how prepared Tennessee young adults feel for their legal rights (given at age 18):

    • 73% feel prepared for voting.

    • 55% feel prepared for medical decisions. 

    • 31% feel prepared for marriage. 

    • 41% feel prepared for total financial independence.
    • 29% feel prepared for property ownership.
